Research Interests:
Presently, I am an undergraduate wildlife ecology and conservation student with a passion for marine ecology. I am currently studying the effects of nutrients and grazing on fungal growth in Thalassia testudinum (turtle grass) in Tampa Bay Florida as part of a world wide study on disease facilitation in sea grass. In similar marine systems (southern salt marshes) it has been found that the synergistic effects of grazing and nutrients can accelerate the degradation of key primary producers. Our aim is to determine if other marine ecosystems are under similar pressures from to- down
and bottom-up effects.
